Collection Update

January 2nd, 2009

The last of 2008’s purchases has arrived!

Arriving in the mail this morning was a McFarlane Toys Meryl Silverburgh figure from Metal Gear Solid 1. After my recent acquisition of 5 of the other MGS1 figures, I started looking out for the remaining three. Now with Meryl in the collection, I only need Sniper Wolf and Psycho Mantis (not including the stealth variants, of course).

The pictures of Meryl are slightly different to the other photos on the site. This is because my brother took them in his new light tent. He’s also taken pictures of my other MGS1 figures and the 20th Anniversary Ultra Detail Figures. These will be added to the respective item pages in due course, so look out for them!

Meryl has been added to “FIGURE”, “LATEST ADDITIONS” and “SITEMAP”.

A Christmas present to add to the collection!

After a visit from my brother today, I had a new christmas present. I ripped off the wrapping paper to find The Art of Metal Gear Solid staring me in the face. Quite a pleasent surprise, too.

The Art of Metal Gear Solid is quite hard to come by these days, and is quite pricey on the rare occasion that you do manage to find one. It’s also an item I’ve been trying to add to the collection for quite a while, but haven’t been willing to spend the money required to own it at it’s inflated price.

The Art of Metal Gear Solid has been added to “PRINT”, “LATEST ADDITIONS” and “SITEMAP”.

I have also taken the time to take new photos of my Liquid Snake, Revolver Ocelot and Vulcan Raven figures from Metal Gear Solid. The new photos have been added in place of the old ones.

Metal Gear Solid: Touch

December 19th, 2008

The details of Konami’s cryptic flash page have been revealed.

Speculation was that the next Metal Gear would be on the XBOX360. Konami, however had other ideas. As predicted, the animation was cleverly set up to hint towards the 360, and then be something completly different.

The next Metal Gear is called “Metal Gear Solid: Touch” and it’s an iPod Touch / iPhone exclusive title. The game is set in the MGS4 Universe and players take control of Old Snake. The mission is to take cover behind an object in the foreground and shoot PMC Soldiers that appear by touching the screen across 8 levels. This platform seem a little too familiar though, as the exact same game has been featured as “Special Mission 02″ on the official MGS4 site since before the game was released.

Metal Gear Solid: Touch will be released (most likely through an application download) in Spring 2009.

Collection Update

December 11th, 2008

A rather large set of additions have arrived.

Today is a rather different day because a big box arrived containing 5 new additions to the collection. They’re all McFarlane MGS1 figures and they’re all imported from America.

Contained in the box were:

Revolver Ocelot - Packaged with Dual Revolvers and Electric Torture Machine.
Vulcan Raven - Packaged with Vulcan Cannon and Display Base.
Cyborg Ninja - Packaged with Interchange head, arm and sword.
Liquid Snake - Packaged with SOCOM, FAMAS, Thermal Goggles and Elevator Base.
Solid Snake - Packaged with SOCOM, FAMAS, STINGER, C4 and Thermal Goggles.

All 5 have been added to “FIGURE” and “SITEMAP”. Ocelot, Liquid and Raven have been added to “LATEST ADDITIONS”. Additional photos are available on the item page, but I will retake these photos as I have tried to salvage them from poor lighting conditions and the colours are a little off.

Konami Announces New Metal Gear?

December 5th, 2008

Konami have revealed a rather cryptic website that features a small flash animation, and nothing else. After the Konami logo fades, a message can be seen that seems to hint towards an MGS release on the XBOX360. Is it MGS4? Is it an expanded MGS4? Is it a completely new game?

The general speculation is that it is indeed MGS4 on the 360, however… something is telling me Konami are hinting toward that to then surprise us all with something we weren’t expecting. I remain optimistic that the cryptic message could instead be hinting towards Metal Gear AC!D3.

At this stage, no one outside of Konami knows for sure what this all means.

Comment Restrictions

November 27th, 2008

I have taken it upon myself to reinstate the comment restrictions. Now, users must register before making comments. This is to prevent spam, which has recently picked up again to insane levels and moderating it is tedious.

Apologies for any inconveniences. This is only a temporary solution to a problem that needs to be addressed. Even if it involves getting an entirely new news system.

Collection Update

November 20th, 2008

Another item has arrived!

This morning, I have taken delivery of a MetalGear Solid 4 Promo T-Shirt. I have been trying to get one of these shirts for quite awhile, the problem previously has been that they usually sell for over £15. This is a price that I simply refuse to pay for a T-Shirt. However, I did see one slip through the net a few months ago for just 50p. Sensing there being a lack of interest in the market at the moment, I decided to pounce.

The T-Shirt has been added to “MISC.”, “LATEST ADDITIONS” and “SITEMAP”.

Collection Update

November 14th, 2008

Another new item!

Being added to the collection today is an item I’ve been trying to track down for a while now. It’s not exactly rare, but finding it for a reasonable price is quite difficult, shipping is also a problem. However, using the deal I have with Error1355, I have obtained a copy of Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions. The American version of Special Missions.

VR Missions has been added to “LATEST ADDITIONS”, “GAME” and “SITEMAP”. Additional Photos are available on the item page.

Collection Update

October 29th, 2008

After a wait of over 6 months, I finally have a new item from America.

Arriving this morning (after being picked up in May, and shipped last Saturday) is a sealed, US copy of Metal Gear Saga Vol.2. Inside the case is a key to access the, long since dead, Metal Gear Online Premiere Beta. This item was a gift from MGS:TUS Forum Admin, Error1355 and as a token of good will for the rather unnecessary delay in shipping the DVD, he included a friendly note and $4.  A big thanks to him for this.

The DVD has been added to “MISC.”, “LATEST ADDITIONS” and “SITEMAP”.
